Two injured in Highway 7 accident

Two people were injured, one critically, in a three-vehicle
crash that occurred Thursday about 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway
7 and McLeod Co. Rd. 1.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Scott Hanson,
38, of Annandale was northbound on Co. Rd. 1 in a 1997 Ford Taurus.

Hanson entered the intersection and struck a 1994 Ford
Probe driven by Jay Anderson, 26, of Hutchinson, the patrol said.

Then, either one or both vehicles hit a 1996 Dodge Neon
driven by Kimberly Larson of Winsted. Larson’s vehicle was facing south
and stopped at the stop sign.

Hanson was taken to Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia,
then airlifted to Hennipen County Medical Center where he was listed in
critical condition.

Anderson was transported to Ridgeview Hospital with injuries.
A passenger in the Anderson vehicle, Scott Acklund, 26, of Hutchinson was
treated and released. Larson was not injured.

Hanson and Larson were wearing seatbelts while Anderson
and Acklund were not, the patrol said. Their airbags did deploy.
