$1 million bail set for murder suspect A Cokato man, Alfonzo Chavez, 27, was arrested for the murder of his 15 month-old daughter Perla Esmeralda Chavez Dec. 18, reported the Wright County Sheriff's Department. He is being held on $1 million bail in the Wright County Jail. Chavez took his unconscious daughter to the Cokato Medical Clinic Dec. 11. She was in respiratory distress and was transported to Minneapolis Children's Hospital by helicopter from the Meeker County Memorial Hospital. The child remained in a coma until she was pronounced brain dead Dec. 14. The investigation into the cause of her injuries indicated that they were not accidental in nature. Chavez was arrested for second degree murder in the death of his daughter.
