Car crash claims life of HL man A one-vehicle crash took the life of Matthew Brandstrom-Thomas, 19, of Howard Lake, Oct. 31 in Chatham Township according to the Wright County Sheriff's Department. The car, driven by Brandstrom- Thomas, was northbound on Baker Ave. N.W. at 21st St. N.W. when it went out of control, left the roadway, and struck a culvert. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Joshua Brandstrom, 16, was the only passenger in the car. He received serious injuries and was transported to the Buffalo Hospital. Later, he was airlifted to the North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he was listed in serious condition. Services for Brandstrom-Thomas were held Thursday in the Church of St. Francis, Buffalo.
