Every accomplishment starts with a dream

Recently, the new Winsted Royalty reflected on their special roles as ambassadors of Winsted.

They are delighted at the opportunity to serve their community and are grateful for the trust that's been placed in them. Here is what they had to say:

Sarah Quast, Ambassador Princess

I truly believe that every accomplishment does start with a dream, and without the wonderful support and encouragement from everyone, I would not have reached my goal. I appreciate all who supported me.

I would like to give a special mention to my sponsors, Millerbernd Mfg. and The Total Entertainment Center. It is a privilege to be an Ambassador Princess of Winsted and have the honor to represent our town.

I have the opportunity to meet many other people and enjoy celebrating their festivities with them.

As Winsted Royalty, we participate in events that include selling ice cream at the Legion steak fry, which takes place every third Saturday of the month.

We also help out with the Winter Festival and the annual Legion Days activities. I'm looking forward to the upcoming year and representing my town to the best of my abilities.

Stephanie Laxen, Ambassador Princess

Becoming a part of the Winsted Royalty was like a dream come true.

I am very proud and honored to be a 1998-99 Winsted Ambassador Princess. To start out, I would like to acknowledge the city of Winsted for giving me this wonderful opportunity. Only four weeks into my reign, I have met so many new people and have been to many new places.

Being an ambassador of Winsted is going to be an easy task. I enjoy being friendly and letting people know they are always welcome.

Even though we often hear, "Where is Winsted?" we are always proud to represent such a great town.

Last year's committee did a great job and I welcome the new committee. We are looking forward to a fun year with you. I would also like to recognize my sponsors, Laxen Construction and K-Way Express and all the other businesses that sponsored the royalty program.

You give young women like me a once in a lifetime experience and you are greatly appreciated.

I am looking forward to the year ahead as a Winsted Ambassador and hope to fulfill my reign to the best of my ability.

Sarah Behrens, Ambassador Queen

I am honored to be able to represent Winsted as the 1998-99 Ambassador Queen and Miss Congeniality. I am very grateful to Dr. Neff and Dr. Heino, and TDS TELECOM for sponsoring me, as well as the rest of you who support the royalty program. Sarah, Stephanie, and I deeply appreciate it.

A few of the activities in which we participate in most neighboring communities include attending a dinner hosted by the town's royalty, riding in their parade, and attending the royalty coronation. At all of these events, we have many opportunities to meet new people, and tell them about Winsted.

If you ever have any community events in which you'd like us to participate, please let our committee know. The Winsted Royalty Committee includes JoEllen Fasching, Michelle Ollig and Michelle Thom.

We appreciate this leadership opportunity!
