Theodore Kappel, OSC, to celebrate 40th anniversary

Brother Theodore Kappel, O.S.C., will celebrate his fortieth anniversary of religious profession Thursday, March 19, the Feast of St. Joseph.

Brother Ted joined the Crosier Order in 1957. He has been stationed in Hastings at the Crosier Monastery since 1990. Prior to that, he spent most of his Religious Life at the Crosier Monastery in Onamia, Minnesota.

For most of his religious life, Brother Ted has been involved with the support services needed at the monastery, serving in the kitchen area and in janitorial maintenance in the Monastery in Onamia, and serving in the laundry and janitorial maintenance at the Monastery/Crosier Renewal Center in Hastings.

He is a quiet man, whose hometown was Winsted, Minnesota where he spends most of his vacation. He is an avid sports fan and his favorite team is the Minnesota Twins. He is known for his ability to remember the scores of the various teams and their standings.

His parents were the late Alfred and Isabelle (LaMothe) Kappel of Winsted.
