McLeod Sheriff Kopesky to retire

McLeod County Sheriff Duane Kopesky, a 30-year law enforcement veteran, has announced he will retire upon the completion of his fifth term at the end of this year.

The position will be up for election in 1998.

In a brief statement, Kopesky said he has enjoyed his law enforcement career and is looking forward to spending more time with his family.
