Marijuana operation found in rural Hutch

Charges are pending against an unidentified 42-year-old Hutchinson man after a search warrant was executed at his rural Hutchinson home and a marijuana growing operation was uncovered.

According to Lt. Wayne Vinkemeier of the McLeod County Sheriff's Office, the warrant was executed July 29 by the sheriff's office in conjunction with the Southwest Metro Drug Task Force.

Vinkemeier said an indoor and outdoor marijuana growing operation was found on the property. Numerous marijuana plants and growing equipment were found in a barn, and numerous marijuana plants were found planted outside the barn in a garden-type fashion.

A search of the residence found more marijuana, mushrooms and drug paraphernalia, Vinkemeier said.
