Combine head falls, kills Waverly farmerLocal farmer Bradley Yager, 35, of rural Waverly, was killed Tuesday when a combine head fell on him, according to the Wright County Sheriff's Department. Just before 4 p.m., Oct. 13, the Wright County Sheriff's Communications received a call reporting that a man was pinned under the head of a combine at the Yager residence, south of Waverly on Co. Rd. 8 in Woodland Township. Sheriff's deputies and Waverly Fire Department Rescue responded to the scene. Attempts were made to free the victim, however, Yager was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been attempting to locate and repair an oil leak on the combine, when the head of the combine fell down and pinned him. |
