'Animal,' professional theatre coming March 15
Zachary Anderson and Javen Ackerman, two "local-boys-made-good" are bringing their production of "Animal," to the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School auditorium Monday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m.
This professional production has appeared at the Minnesota Theatre Fringe Fest and has had several bookings at the popular Minneapolis venue for off-the-wall dramatics, The Bryant Lake Bowl.
The production involves a series of six comic monologues, including a piece about a man who plots a revolt against the City of Eagan over the closing of his favorite hamburger shop, and another about a man who discovers the secret to immortality.
The entire show is performed by Anderson and written by Ackerman. You may remember the duo from several HLW-DC musicals of the recent past.
Anderson, for example appeared as Colonel Pickering, Henry Higgins' sidekick in "My Fair Lady" in 1990; Ackerman was a fabulous Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof."
Ackerman and Anderson have graciously agreed to "bring the mountain to Mohammed."
Reduced admission fees are $4 with $1 per ticket being donated to the HLWW Drama Department in hopes of gathering the largest possible crowd for the homecoming appearance.
Advance tickets are available through David Metcalf at the HLWW High School, 320-543-3471 or Mary Ackerman at the Cokato Public Library, 320-286-5760.
