Three arrested in series of area burglaries
Three male juveniles have been arrested in Meeker County in connection with a recent string of burglaries.
Officials said the three confessed to breaking into area schools, businesses and churches from July 27 to Aug. 16.
With these arrests, officials believe they have cleared the burglaries of St. James Lutheran School, Howard Lake; Dassel-Cokato High School; Elim Mission Church and St. John's Education Center, Cokato; Dassel car wash; Riverside Store, Forest City; Starlite Drive-In Theater and Assembly of God Church, Litchfield; Land O'Lakes Oil and Kimball High School, Kimball; Eden Valley-Watkins High School; and several churches in Stearns County.
Officials said Eden Valley Police Chief Ernest Junker is credited with providing a critical lead.
Evidence was seized at a rural Manannah Township residence.
Other burglaries that may be connected were at Dassel Church of Christ and First Baptist Church of Cokato, as well as avery similar incident in Rochester.
Formal charges are being prepared by the Meeker County Attorney's Office.
