Chase results in rollover

A high-speed chase ended in an accident for Ryan Olson, 21, of South Haven March 6.

A little after midnight, a Wright County deputy saw a vehicle travelling at approximately 79 miles per hour, heading west on Wright County Rd. 101 in Southside Township, according to the Wright County Sheriff's Department.

The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver accelerated and fled. The pursuit, which lasted for 18 minutes and covered about 20 miles, ended when Olson lost control of his car at the intersection of Meeker County Road 17 and Kingston Street.

The car rolled, and Olson, the only occupant of the vehicle, was treated for minor injuries at Meeker County Hospital.

Olson was arrested for DUI and felony fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. He was booked into the Wright County Jail.
