One primary election in McLeod County

The faces on the McLeod County Board of Commissioners may look a little different after the elections on Nov. 7.

Six people filed for the three commissioner seats that are open for election, and District 5 candidates will be on the ballot for the primary elections that will be held on September 12.

The candidate for District 1 is incumbent Ray Bayerl of Lester Prairie. He represents the townships of Bergen, Hale and Winsted and the cities of Lester Prairie, Silver Lake and Winsted.

The candidates for District 3 are incumbent Grant Knutson of Hutchinson and Roger Draeger of Brownton. District 3 includes the townships of Collins, Lynn, Penn and Round Grove and the city of Stewart as well as Precinct 3 in Hutchinson.

The candidates for District 5 are incumbent Beverly Wangerin of Hutchinson, Milan Plath of Hutchinson and Terry Ruble of Hutchinson. The District 5 commissioner represents residents in Acoma and Hutchinson townships as well as Precinct 2 in Hutchinson.

The supervisors on the soil and water conservation board may not change much. There are four people running for the three seats that are open for election.

The candidate for District 3, which includes the townships of Collins, Lynn, Penn and Round Grove and the cities of Brownton and Stewart, is incumbent Leonard Pikal.

The candidate for District 4, which includes the townships of Hale, Hutchinson and Rich Valley and the city of Silver Lake, is incumbent Doug Portele.

There are two candidates for District 5, which includes the townships of Acoma and Hassan Valley and the city of Hutchinson. They are Willard Reiner of Hutchinson and incumbent Carlie Karg of Hutchinson.
