Woman reports being shot during roadside robbery
By Lynda Jensen
A woman ended up at the Hutchinson hospital following a peculiar incident in the area Tuesday.
The woman was shot in the left foot, although other details that surround the shooting are not clear, said Chief Deputy Denny Owen of Carver County.
The woman, whose name was not released, stated that her car stalled while driving with another female passenger on Highway 7 near Carver County Road 21.
While parked on the side of the road, an unknown male stopped to rob them.
The robber allegedly took $35.
The two women gave different accounts of the incident and even the location of it, which is five miles inside Carver County near Lester Prairie, is questionable, since only one of the two women claim that it happened there, Owen said.
Both women are in their 20s.
"No (law enforcement) agencies were notified," Owen said, until the women ended up at the Hutchinson hospital.
A gun was not immediately recovered, Owen said.
"There are a lot of aspects that don't fit," Owen commented. Naturally, further investigation is underway to figure out exactly what happened, he said.
