Memorial bricks being sold by historical society

By Lynda Jensen

The Howard Lake Historical Society is selling bricks for the sidewalk area in front of the historic city hall building.

Each brick will have its sponsor inscribed upon it, with three, five, or seven lines, depending on the amount of the donation and size of brick.

Bricks may be purchased with "in memory of" inscribed on them as well, if desired, said Don Danford of the historical society.

The bricks will be used to repave the city hall with a circular patio design, he said.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will be used for restoration efforts in Howard Lake, including the remodeling of city hall, if the city council opts to do this, among other restoration efforts by the historical society.

Those who purchase a brick can use it as a tax deduction, Danford added.

A brick is on display at the city offices in the city hall building.

Order forms are available at the city hall and area businesses.

Those who wish to sponsor a brick may contact Danford at (320) 543-2615.
