Five-year-old dies in farm accident

By Ryan Gueningsman

Five-year-old Christopher Bebo of rural Silver Lake, a kindergartner at Holy Trinity in Winsted, was killed in a farm accident Saturday, Nov. 12.

Bebo was helping his grandfather in the field, and while riding on the tractor, he fell off when it hit a bump, and he was accidently run over, authorities said.

He was taken to the Hutchinson hospital by the Silver Lake ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

Bebo was the son of Tom and Joann Bebo, and the younger brother to Cody.

"He was a kid who was always smiling. He had a great laugh, and a twinkle in his eye. Sometimes I wondered what he was thinking about," Bebo's kindergarten teacher Rosie Hertel said.

According to Hertel, Bebo's father said that Christopher has done more things than a 20-year-old has done.

"He's been to Disney World, Busch Gardens, and has traveled all around Minnesota with his father, who is a truck driver with K-Way in Winsted," Hertel said.

He loved the outdoors and always wanted to be outside, Hertel said.

"He was just a fun-loving kid who had a great smile," Hertel said. "Everyone misses him."
