Hecksels now have businesses in same building

By Patrice Waldron

Eldron and Sharon Hecksel, who have operated businesses in Winsted for more than 25 years each, now own their own building.

Their new building is located at 135 First Street N. in Winsted, and houses three separate businesses.

Sharon's Beauty Salon, Eldron's Realty-Plus Real Estate office, and the Total Entertainment Center are located in this building.

Sharon has operated her beauty salon in Winsted for the past 26 years, and said she is excited about the new salon.

Sharon's salon was previously located at 111 Main Avenue, about half a block away.

The salon is newly remodeled, and has expanded capabilities, including four wet work stations and one dry work station. The salon also has a handicapped accessible restroom, making it available to all.

There is enough space for four operators. Carolyn Paschka has worked with Sharon for 12 years. Another employee, Lisa Feltmann, has worked with Sharon on and off, part-time for four years.

Sharon plans to rent two of the stations to other cosmetologists.

Eldron has been in the real estate business for 24 years. He has not previously had his own office, but has worked out of his home, and even out of his car.

The new building works especially well because Sharon can answer the phone for the salon and his office, too.

Eldron has also been in the auctioneer business for 28 years. Having an auction is the way to go, explained Eldron, because that way everything goes.

The main office of Realty Plus is located in Hutchinson. Eldron said that he is excited about his new office, where he can now offer multiple listing service (MLS) and Internet services. Clients will be able to talk with him in private about their real estate and auction needs.

The Total Entertainment Center is operated by Mike Vanderlindin, who rents the space from the Hecksels.

An open house is being planned for a later date.
