Tormanen takes over Red's

By Lynda Jensen

A former employee is taking over Red's Pizza in Howard Lake, effective Friday.

Cheryl Tormanen is leasing the business from Bill and Gloria Strandquist, who used to own the establishment for 12 years.

Previously, Tormanen worked for the Strandquists as a waitress for 10 years, she said.

Tormanen's menu and prices will reflect the same items as what the Strandquists offered, she said. She will also feature the same crew that formerly worked for the Strand-quists, she said.

"It will be back to the old Red's," Tormanen said. This will include early breakfast, hamburgers, submarine sandwiches, and of course, pizza, she said.

Most of the items on the menu are home made, such as the buffet. Red's also offers baking such as pies and cakes.

Tormanen redid the main dining area with new carpeting and a new coat of paint.

There is an east entry to the side that overlooks the detour from Highway 12, she said. There is plenty of parking there, she noted. In fact, Bill created that east entry when he owned it, to prepare for construction, she said.

Hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 6 a.m. to midnight, Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
