Winsted city administrator resigns

By Patrice Waldron

In a surprise announcement, Winsted City Administrator Matt Podhradsky announced his resignation at Tuesday's city council meeting.

Podhradsky has accepted a position as the assistant to the administrator of Chaska, where he resides.

His last official day in Winsted will be Wednesday, May 2. He will, however, be available to help the next city administrator through the transition period.

Podhradsky will start his new position Monday, May 7.

"I hope we are just fortunate enough to get someone who comes close to Matt in dedication and professionalism," said Mayor Don Guggemos.

Those sentiments were repeated by other council members who, reluctantly accepted Podhradsky's resignation.
