LP council member Halloran resigns, effective Aug. 12

A seat will soon be vacant on the Lester Prairie City Council.

Council member Rose Halloran gave her letter of resignation at last Monday's meeting.

Halloran stated family health reasons for her resignation.

"I just feel that I can't do the job the way I should," she said. "It was a wonderful experience and I encourage people to try it."

Her last council meeting will Monday, Aug. 12.

Halloran is also the park board liaison.

"I'd like to see more women become involved in the council," she said.

If the council can get a person appointed for Halloran's seat before she leaves, she is more than willing to show him or her the ropes, she said.

"I'll probably stay involved in the community somehow," she said.
