Norm’s Highway 12 Auto opens its doors in Waverly today
for the first time.
Located on the east end of Moy’s Collision, the automotive
repair business is owned by Norm and Kathy Jerde of Montrose.
Services include the usual maintenance essentials, such
as changing oil and filters, with an emphasis on custom exhaust, struts,
shocks, tires and brakes, Norm Jerde said.
Jerde brings 16 years of experience to the business, with
custom exhaust being a specialty of his for several years.
In fact, Jerde caters to custom exhaust for classic cars
as well, he said.
The business features a large bay area that can fit four
vehicles comfortably inside it.
The Jerdes have three children, Rich, 20, Melissa, 19,
and Chris, 16.
Norm is well known in the area for his mechanic abilities,
and has a solid clientele.
He gave a great deal of thought before opening the business,
Norm said. He considered several area towns, including Howard Lake and
Montrose, before choosing his current location picking it mainly because
it was finished commercial property, ready to go.
Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, from
8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday morning by appointment, Norm said. The phone
number is (763) 658-6676.
