LP residents win Vikings package from Lester Building Systems
By Julie Yurek
Chris and Jane Otto of Lester Prairie were the lucky winners of a pair of Vikings tickets to Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers, courtesy of Lester Building Systems.
The tickets were given away at the Lester Building Systems web site.
The company is a sponsor of the football team and has a marketing relationship, said Tom Borgman, division marketing manager of Lester Building Systems in Lester Prairie.
All the corporate sponsors of the team were given tickets to give away or award, Borgman said.
However, because the contest was kept open a little longer than intended, the Ottos weren't informed until after they made other plans, Borgman said.
So, they gave the tickets to their brother-in-law, Kurt VandenBranden and his son, Peter, of Lake Elmo.
"VandenBranden grew up in Green Bay until his teenage years, so he was real excited," Jane said.
He was the first person she thought of to call, she said.
Otto not only won tickets, she received a whole prize package.
The VandenBrandens took a coach bus from the Vikings headquarters at Winter Park in Eden Prairie to Lambeau Field, Wis, Borgman said. The VandenBrandens joined other contest winners on the bus.
Once the bus arrived at the field, the VandenBrandens went to a tailgating party, Borgman said.
After the game, the winners were given hotel accomodations at the Radisson Hotel in Appleton, Wis.
