Ready to strap on my bargain- hunting shoes

By LYNDA JENSEN

I love garage saling and the season is finally upon us.

I’m not above shivering inside a cold garage, looking for bargains or rifling through clothes hanging on a wire.

In fact, it’s pretty darn fun, if you happen to find any treasures this way.

For those of you who never went garage saling, you’re missing so much of life experience.

It reminds me of something I heard about the differences between men and women (most of them, since the good Lord made so many different kinds of people).

For example, if you’re looking for a dress, a man will go “hunting” for a dress (or whatever it is).

The woman generally loves the thrill of the shopping experience, taking her time and looking at many dresses. Picture the man beside her, telling her just to pick one so they can go.

The man goes on a mission, searching for the article and then running to the checkout at top speed.

Isn’t that funny? More true than not, I think.

The following is a list of area citywide garage sales:

Howard Lake, Waverly and Montrose citywide sales - Sat., April 24

New Germany - Fri. and Sat., April 30-May 1

Winsted - Sat., May 15

Lester Prairie - Sat. Sept. 18

A co-worker’s prayer

Dear Lord,

I pray for wisdom to understand my co-workers;

Love to forgive them;

And patience for their moods.

Because Lord, if I pray for strength, I’ll beat them to death.
