Charge filed for fake Winstock wristbands
By Ryan Gueningsman, Staff Writer
A Glencoe man has been charged with one count of theft by swindle for making fake wristbands to get into the Winstock Country Music Festival in June south of Winsted.
Derrick Wayne Miller, 19, was charged after McLeod County sheriff’s deputies investigated the fake wristbands that were found at the festival.
Gate security had caught four or five individuals with the fake wristbands, said McLeod County Sergeant in charge of investigations Rich Gronland.
“We feel that he probably made more, but proving that is another thing,” Gronland said.
The fake wristbands were made on a computer and printer, he added.
