Montrose Days to start Friday

The state sanctioned Kids’ Pedal Pull, carnival rides and the usual fun will be featured during Montrose Days, Friday through Sunday Aug. 20-22.
Coronation will round out activities Sunday with reigning ambassadors Breanne Krattenmaker, Brittany Erickson and Justinne Matthees passing along their crowns.
All three days will feature root beer floats under the tent sponsored by the Lionesses, and food booths by the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Youth Boosters, and Methodist Church.
The rain or shine tent is provided by the Montrose Lions.
A schedule of events includes the following:
Friday, Aug. 20
5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Suzuki Kids at the Community Center
6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Junior Coronation and Meet the Ambassador Candidates at the Community Center
6:30 - 9:00 p.m. KRWC AM 1360 Road Show Under the Tent
9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. Street Dance with Music by “The Schultz Band”
Saturday, Aug. 21
8:30 a.m. Doubles Horseshoe Tournament at Lions Park
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Car Show at Bayrischer Hof Sponsored by Youth Boosters
10 a.m. 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament at Veterans Park
1:30 p.m. Kid’s Pedal Tractor Pull (State Sanctioned) Registration beginning at 1:00 p.m.
3 p.m. Sneaky Pete’s Garden Tractor Pull
4 p.m. Beach Party with KRWC Sponsored by Montrose Lioness
5 p.m. Montrose Fire Relief Assn. Pork Chop Dinner at the Community Center (dessert served by Montrose Methodist Church)
6 p.m. “Montrose Youth Ball” Baseball Game at Carver Field
8:00 - 12 p.m. Street Dance with Music by “Cowboys in Sneakers”
Sunday, Aug. 22
6:30 a.m. Sunrise Service at Big Marsh Plaza (1 mile south on Highway 25)
8 a.m. - 12 p.m. VFW Pancake Breakfast at VFW Post 1901
1 p.m. Wellness Van Sponsored by Montrose Lioness
1:00 p.m. Montrose Days parade
Following Parade: Royal Ambassador Coronation at the Community Center
Lioness Cake Walk under the Tent Lions Club Chicken BBQ Dinner at the Lions Shelter
3 - 8 p.m. Lions Club Street Dance with Music by “Die Wolpentingers”
