Women’s Expo set for Sat.

By Lynda Jensen

More than 50 vendors are expected to pack the second annual Women’s Expo at the Blue Note Ballroom 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3.

The theme will once again be women’s health, featuring local speaker Dr. Jennifer Butturff of Phenomenal Rehabilitation in Howard Lake, who will be addressing fat burning and detoxification.

Also speaking will be Dr. Brenda Fortin of Phenomenal Rehabilitation, who will talk about hormone changes for women, and American Express marketing manager Annie Cull.

Information will be provided about exercise, health, nutrition, make-up, hair care, massage, photography, hairstyles on video, crafts, stamping, scrapbooking, gardening, candles, ceramics, electrolysis, tattooing, body piercing, decorators, food samples, quilting, children’s books, wood carvings, chiropractic care, self defense, and much more.

There will be prize drawings throughout the expo.

Items for the food shelf are welcome, since local food shelves will be stocking up.

The following is a seminar guide for the expo:

Women’s health by Fortin, 9 a.m.

Fortin will talk about natural and safe ways to treat premenstrual symptoms and menopausal symptoms.

Many women start suffering with pre-menopausal symptoms at age 30.

This class is to inform, inspire, and create a proactive approach to your health and an in-depth understanding of how a woman’s body functions.

Topics covered:

• hormonal changes throughout our lives due to stress, pregnancy and time.

• the function and importance of pelvic floor muscles, the uterus and abdominal muscles: healthy sexual function: how foods, environment and lifestyle affect menstrual cycles, attitude and general health.

Fat burning by Butturff, 10 a.m.

Learn easy, effective and safe ways to turn your body into a fat burning machine.

Butturff will discuss what supplements and foods actually help women become leaner and keep them leaner; the side effect of those diet pills, protein diets, and the “Hollywood” diet in a bottle; and the function of fat in the body.

Detoxification by Butturff, 11 a.m.

Detoxification is a process of cleaning, nourishing, and resting the body from the inside out.

This seminar is for those who are looking for a way to get rid of chronic health complaints like fatigue, muscle pain and aches, or decreased energy.

She will also address women interested in undoing the “poisoning” people have done to their bodies with junk food binges, excessive drugs, alcohol, sugar and caffeine consumption, prolonged stress, smoking, pollutants from the environment and the absence of physical exercise.

Class will include information on a one-week detoxification program, general overview of the immune, digestive, endocrine, and neurological systems of the body, and will cover different types of detoxification, and general health.

Strong women: powerful financial strategies by Annie Cull, noon

Cull, an American Express marketing manager, will offer advice designed to give women the solid financial strategies they need to achieve peace of mind and financial security.

Specifically, the seminar will cover the “three Is” of investing: introspection, investigation, and invitation.

These three easy steps can help women prioritize what is important to them and show them a path to help achieve success and fulfill their dreams.
