The most wonderful time of the year

By Aaron Schultz

Is there a better time of the year for a sports’ fan? I don’t think so.

High school tournament action is all but wrapped up, and was a fun, exciting season for the local teams.

You’ve got the NCAA Division I basketball tournaments (men’s and women’s) starting up.

Major League Baseball spring training is up and running, with two Twins games on the television this past weekend.

The Timberwolves are in the chase for the final playoff position in the NBA.

Gopher hockey has gotten it going again, and swept Minnesota State-Mankato in the opening round of the WCHA tournament.

High school spring sports practice starts today, with baseball kicking off practice Monday, March 21.

Town team baseball is right around the corner, and rumors just keep flying around.

Of course, all of the happenings with the Vikings, good and bad, are keeping all the fans on their toes.

Fantasy baseball drafts are starting to happen, which is always a lot of fun.

NASCAR is back, and is as popular as ever, along with racing leagues.

Yep, it is a busy time, and the best time, to be a sports fan. Does it get any better than March for sports? I don’t think so.
