Montrose Days Aug. 19-21

Music, carnival rides, and coronation will highlight Montrose Days, Friday through Sunday, Aug. 19-21.
The events kick off with entertainment from the local talent of Suzuki Kids at the community center Friday from 5 to 6 p.m.
The medallion hunt, sponsored by the Montrose Lions, will also be in full swing, ending Sunday. Clues will be posted daily at city hall 3:30 p.m.
Saturday features a full day of events with perennial favorites in the form of the horseshoe tournament at Lions Park starting at 8:30 a.m., the car show starting at 9 a.m., and state sanctioned pedal tractor pull, which begins at 1:30 p.m. at the community center parking lot.
The Montrose youth baseball game is scheduled at Carver field Saturday.
Street dances are featured all three nights, Friday by “N-Tunez,” Saturday by “Deep Fried Tweeters,” and Sunday by “Die Wolpentingers.”
A pork chop dinner will be served at the community center Saturday at 5 p.m., sponsored by the Montrose Fire Department Relief Association. Dessert will be served by the Montrose Methodist Church.
Sunday will feature a chicken BBQ dinner at the Lions shelter, sponsored by the Montrose Lions.
Sunday features the parade at 1 p.m., followed by coronation of the new Montrose ambassadors.
Those who are hungry should be satisfied with food booths offered by the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Youth Boosters, Methodist Church, and Montrose Lions.
The WOW Van will conduct a screening Sunday, Aug. 21 of Montrose Days. It is sponsored by the Montrose Lionesses and Mercy and Unity Hospitals.
