New towing business offers help anywhere

By Ryan Gueningsman

Tow truck driver Greg Voight and his business partner Brian Jensen recently started Big B’s Towing and Recovery, based in Montrose.

The pair provide lock-out service, jump starts, flat tire assistance, traditional towing, as well as rescue/recovery jobs. Voight lives in Howard Lake, while Jensen lives in Montrose. What's in it for YOU?

“We can tow any vehicle in any situation,” Voight said, noting an incident where he pulled a vehicle out of a lake last year.

The company mostly provides emergency service, and does not favor impounds, but will take them in the event of an accident or for the sheriff’s department.

“We’re not trying to steal anything away from the other towers, but we’re trying to make a living, too,” Voight said.

Voight sees the population in the Montrose area increasing, and feels that the business is there for him to make a living at this.

He and three of his friends own four cars that race at Raceway Park in Shakopee, and he was also involved in towing in the northern metro area for several years.

He is certified federally and by the State of Minnesota.

Voight has also taken classes on rollovers, and is in the process of getting his diving license, which would allow him to swim to a sunken vehicle, and then hook it to be towed.
