What is it really that explains the “relevance” of Jesus’ human life to everyday life?

Why has He mattered so much? Why does He appear on the front covers of magazines?

I mean, after all, He was born in a little town on the back side of nowhere. At the end of His relatively short life, 33 years, He had very few followers and no burial plot of His own. Not very “successful,” as far as the beginnings of a worldwide-for-all-time movement goes.

I think Jesus is still “relevant” today because He still brings hope to human beings.

He matters because of what He brought and still brings to everyday ordinary people.

He is able to help us deal with everyday life. He came to earth to bring us life we all hunger for.

Jesus is “relevant” today because He delivered God’s life to us, and became one of us. It turns out that He came to give us life, and life more abundantly.

He is “relevant” today because He offers that life . . . His life, to all who receive Him. Immanuel, God with us.

Have a “relevant” Merry Christmas!

My thoughts were inspired by reading the book entitled, “Divine Conspiracy” by Dallas Willard. If you are looking for a good read, this book is it.
