Jesse Wayne Blaylock, 18, of Kimball and Matthew John Ballweber, 19, of Kimball were arrested for assault and disorderly conduct in the incident that was directly related to retaliation for another alleged assault, according to Meeker County Sheriff Mike Hirman.

Meeker County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from a Darwin residence reporting a fight. Deputies found that two people had been assaulted and that the suspects had left the area in a blue four-door Buick on County State Aid Highway 14, according to the sheriff’s report.

Dassel Rescue and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene for one of the injured parties.

The suspect vehicle was stopped without incident and its six occupants were detained while the investigation continued of the incident. Blaylock and Ballweber are currently in the Meeker County Jail pending a formal appearance before a judge.

The investigation is continuing and further charges are expected, according to the sheriff’s report.
