Cokato residents will be able to take advantage of calling metro toll free.

The votes are in from a petition administered by the Public Utilities Commission which was spearheaded by the Cokato Chamber of Commerce.

Approximately 1,200 ballots were gathered in which 65.4 percent voted “yes” and 34.6 percent voted no.

Residential rates will be increased by $3.69 per month and businesses will be $7.38 per month for those with a 286 exchange.

Residents with this exchange will be notified by mail from the PUC and changes can be expected within 12 months.
