'Taste of Montrose-Waverly' feature of expo

The “Taste of Montrose-Waverly,” will be the highlight of the fifth annual Montrose Waverly Community Expo, set for Saturday, Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. 1 p.m. at the Montrose Elementary School.

Free food samples will be provided by local restaurants and grocery stores including Bayrischer Hof, Great Northern Bar & Grill, Pete’s Grocery, Reds Café, Uptown Bar & Grill, and the Waverly Café.

More highlights

Free activities provided by local area businesses such as: face painting, make and takes, a money machine, coloring contest, lots of door prizes and much more! Come and see more than 60 local area business and community organizations.

Demonstrations throughout the event will be provided by the Wright County Sheriff’s Department, Dojo Karate, Barbara Lee’s Dance Studio, Suzuki Kids and Blue Grass music.

The Montrose Lioness Club will be hosting a free health screening in partnership with Mercy and Unity Hospitals during the expo as well.

Residents may have their blood pressure taken, as well as blood sugar and cholesterol checked, among other things.

The Wellness Van is staffed by nurses and lab staff from Mercy and Unity Hospitals.

For booths, interested businesses can still register for space by completing a PDF registration form found at www.montrosewaverlychamber.com.

The event is hosted by the Montrose Waverly Chamber of Commerce.
