Meeker County Fair Aug. 3-6

The Meeker County Fair will begin Thursday, Aug. 3 and continue through Sunday, Aug. 6.
The 134th annual Meeker County Fair kicks off the festivites Thursday night with one of the weekend’s highlights, the demo derby, at 7 p.m.
The Meeker County Fair, in Litchfield, has plenty to do for people of all ages, including amusement park rides, 4-H displays, tractor pulls, and tons of live music.
Friday, Aug. 4 is senior citizen day.
New to the list of activities this year is “Draft Horse Fever,” in which draft horse owners are invited to bring in their horses to show. Catch the fever at 7 p.m. in the grandstand.
Also on Friday is musical entertainment from the Mike Kingery Family from 2-2:45 p.m. and 3-3:45 p.m. at the bandshell, Sara Dragt will perform from 7-8 p.m. at the bandshell, and Wally Pikal from 8:30-11 p.m. at the beer garden.
Saturday kicks off with fun for the kids with a pedal pull at 10:30 a.m. and contests all afternoon.
The demo derby comes back for a fully-loaded second night at 7 p.m., and promises to be lots of fun.
Providing musical entertainment on Saturday will be Wayne Longtin from 8:30-9:30 p.m., the Mid-Minnesota Concert Band from 6-8 p.m., and the Back Roads Band from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Sunday, Aug. 6, is kid’s day and promises to have plenty of activities for the youngsters to enjoy.
The tractor, truck and semi pull will take place at 1 p.m. in the grandstand.
For some fun variety, check out the talent show at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Trolley rides will be available at no cost Sunday from 2:30-5 p.m.
Sherwin Linton will play in the bandshell at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m.
Throughout the weekend, Sam’s Amusement will provide the thrills of an amusement ride at a discount price.
The 4-Hers will be providing classes all weekend, as well as displaying their livestock and giving shows.
