Winsted Summer Festival Aug. 11-13

The Winsted Summer Festival is set to begin this Friday, and continue through Sunday.

Friday

The festival kicks off Friday night with Brat Busters at Mill Reserve Park.

Brat Busters, sponsored by the Winsted Area Chamber of Commerce, will be served starting at 4 p.m.

The kids’ treasure hunt begins at 6 p.m. Following the hunt, the annual canoe race will take place at 6:30 p.m.

The crowd favorite, Karaoke with Jay, begins at 7:30 p.m. will strike a chord with young and old.

Saturday

Saturday kicks off with co-ed volleyball and horseshoes at Hainlin Park.

For the youngsters, there is a kiddie parade and clown show at 11 a.m. at Hainlin Park.

The kiddie parade line-up begins at the Blue Note and proceeds to Hainlin Park.

The children’s tractor pull begins at 12:30 p.m.

The evening has fun things planned for the kids as well, with games and activities beginning at 5 p.m. behind the Legion.

A polka Mass will take place at Holy Trinity Church 5:15 p.m. enticing all the polka lovers out there.

Musical entertainment is provided by the ever popular Shaw Brothers. They take the stage behind the Legion at 8 p.m.

The big event of the night will be the fireworks over Winsted Lake, starting at 9:45 p.m.

Sunday

Sunday is promised to be an action-packed day starting with the annual firemen’s pancake breakfast beginning at 7 a.m.

The annual car show takes place at 12:30 next to Holy Trinity.

The parade begins at 1 p.m. with many interesting floats planned for the line-up. Local sports legend Ken Norman will serve as this year’s grand marshal.

Children’s games continue behind the Legion at 2 p.m. as well as ice shots, wall climbing, water wars, mini putt, the dunk tank, and the Luce Line mini express train throughout the entire weekend.

Karaoke with Jay is back for a second fun-filled day, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

The coronation begins at 4:30 p.m. at Mill Reserve Park.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Zoo Factor beginning at 6 p.m.
