Delano resident Brian J. Ourada, 33, was involved in a head-on traffic accident near Redwood Falls Dec. 14 and remains hospitalized.

Ourada was traveling eastbound on Highway 19 in a 1996 Ford Escort when the vehicle crossed over the centerline and struck a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina, being driven by Lonnie L. Roepke, 42, of Winthrop, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Ourada was transported to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he remained late last week. According to a web site established on caringbridge.org, Ourada was diagnosed with internal bleeding and a torn aorta.

Following surgery, Ourada has blinked his eyes several times, and turned his head, which was a positive sign for Ourada’s family, including his wife of three months, Jenny, and mother, Linda.
