Todd Boger of Cokato is hitting the stage with the second run of the Children’s Theatre Company’s production of “Disney’s High School Musical.”

The musical opens this weekend and will continue performances through Sunday, July 22 on the main stage at the Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis.

“Disney’s High School Musical” revolves around Troy Bolten, the popular captain of the basketball team and Gabriella Montez, the brainy and beautiful member of the academic club. They break the rules of the East High society when they secretly audition for the leads in the school’s musical. As they reach for the stars and follow their dreams, everyone learns about acceptance, teamwork, and being true to yourself, according to CTC’s Abbey Mackenzie.

Boger will be performing in an ensemble swing role, and trying out for the high school chorus, according to Mackenzie.

The production performed last winter on the Cargill stage, but due to the tremendous response, is performing on the main stage this time, Mackenzie said.

Boger is excited to be back at the CTC and is nothing but thankful to be playing such a thrilling roll, according to Mackenzie.

He has been in many shows, through the Stages Theatre Company, including Cinder Edna, Seussical, A Christmas Carol, and The Prince and the Pauper.

Boger just completed his third year at Holy Trinity High School and hopes to pursue a career in theater education.

Tickets are $17 to $39 and available by calling the CTC ticket office at (612) 874-0400.
