Do you have aches, pains, stiffness, or are you just plain suffering from stress?

If so, White Birch Therapeutic Massage might just be for you.

The new business has come to the Delano community, run by Delano’s Renee Goedeke.

Goedeke’s mission is to help reduce stress and pain while assisting people on their path towards better health.

Goedeke specializes in deep tissue and trigger point therapy, as well as Swedish relaxation massage.

“A combination of relaxation and deep tissue massage,” Goedeke said.

She also offers sports and on-site chair massages, which accomplishes everything from prevention to reducing pain, stress, and scar tissue, to increasing circulation and range of motion.

“For sports, it is a great way to prevent injuries,” Goedeke said.

Goedeke also is qualified to work with people who have special medical conditions such as MS, cerebral palsy, and fibromyalgia.

She has past experience working with these conditions as a home care nurse, and uses massage techniques to alleviate muscle pain and tightness, as well as promote range of motion.

“I work with the person to decide what the person’s problem areas are, and what the person’s needs are,” Goedeke said.

There are a lot of benefits a person can receive from massages, depending on each person’s needs and what they want to get out of the massage.

Goedeke fully understands that each person is different, and she will use whatever technique will benefit the individual the most.

“It all depends on what the person wants from the massage,” Goedeke said.

Some of the benefits include reduced blood pressure, flushing toxic acids such as lactic acid from muscles, relaxing and stretching muscles, stimulating the immune system, reducing stress, promoting deeper sleep, increasing joint flexibility, reducing scar tissue, as well as strengthen the immune system.

“It can be beneficial in a lot of ways,” Goedeke said.

Getting to know Renee Goedeke

Goedeke grew up in Delano, where she has lived most of her life. She attended Delano Public Schools and went on to Minnesota State University, Mankato, where she graduated with a bachelor of science nursing degree.

Goedeke worked as a home care nurse for several years, and while working with her patients, realized she wanted to go back to school and become a massage therapist.

“I wanted to go back to school for a few years,” Goedeke said.

She attended Northwestern Health Sciences University, graduating this past December.

“I wanted to go to school with a strong anatomy and physiology program,” she said.

Goedeke stays busy. Along with operating White Birch Massage Therapy, she still works as a home care nurse certain nights and weekends.

“I want to keep working rehabilitation, and help people decrease their pain levels,” Goedeke said.

Goedeke lives with her husband, Bob, and their two daughters, 12- year-old Amanda, and Kayla, who is 10.

White Birch Therapeutic Massage offers three different time allotments, starting with 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minute appointments.

Hour vary, with special times being available, Monday through Saturday.

“It is good for relaxation and rehabilitation,” Goedeke said. “Give it a try.”

White Birch Therapeutic Massage is located northwest of Delano in Franklin Township at 4333 Franham Avenue SE.
