Franklin Township will feature an election for a three-year supervisor position, presently held by Bill McMullen, in this spring’s township election.

Filing for this position opens Tuesday, Jan. 2, and continues through Tuesday, Jan. 15.

Persons interested in filing may do so at the home office of Franklin Township Clerk/Treasurer Geri Hagelin, 10710 Dalton Avenue SE, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Hagelin said appointments are appreciated, and may be made by calling (952) 955-1619. A filing fee of $2 will be applied to all affidavits of candidacy.

Other area townships also have positions up for election, including several supervisor and clerk spots.

“The clerk/treasurer and deputy clerk/treasurer positions in Franklin Township are appointed (hired) positions, and therefore not up for any election,” Hagelin said.

Voters in Franklin Township will not have any other questions on the ballot in this spring’s election, which will take place Tuesday, March 11 at the Franklin Township Hall, located south of Delano on Wright County Road. 16.
