Dassel Elementary has a new principal, as of July 1. Rob Nudell, current principal at Parkside Elementary in Buffalo, has been hired to replace resigning principal Karen Coblentz.
“I’m thrilled about it,” Nudell said.
He has been principal for the Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose elementary school for six years with nine years total experience as principal.
Having done his research of DC, he is looking forward to working in the district and under strong leadership, Nudell said.
“I’ve heard nothing but good things about it,” he said.
Under his leadership, Parkside Elementary was named a School of Excellence and was also one of three schools in the state to win the SEE award, schools for energy efficiency.
“It helps the environment while saving taxpayers money,” he said.
Nudell is excited to work with the staff at Dassel Elementary and is looking forward to being a part of the DC community.
“We are very fortunate to be able to hire him. His experience will certainly benefit Dassel-Cokato,” said DC Superintendent Jeff Powers said.
His plans for the summer include building relationships within his new school and around the DC community.
Nudell’s wife is a special education teacher and he has a daughter, Natalie, 8, and a son, Parker who is 10. The family resides in Buffalo.
