LP High School offers principal position

Lester Prairie Superintendent Joe Miller is confident that the school board will give its approval to the offer made to Scott Fitzsimonds to fill the position of Lester Prairie High School principal for the 2007-08 school year. The approval should come at the school board meeting Monday, June 18.

Fitzsimonds recently completed his internship at Southwest Middle School in Albert Lea and at Albert Lea High School during the school year 2006-07.

He received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Minnesota.

His master’s degree is from St. Mary’s University in Winona, and his degree in administration from St. Mary’s in Minneapolis.

Previously, Fitzsimonds was employed as a director of bands at Albert Lea High School from 2000 to 2007.

He also served in the Marine Corps 1987 to 1991, where he performed with the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps.

Fitzsimonds and his wife, Geneva, have two children.
