Wright County approves five-year bridge replacement programBy Ivan Raconteur The Wright County Board adopted a five year bridge replacement program during Tuesday’s meeting. The resolution includes a list of 10 bridges that require replacement, rehabilitation, or removal within the next five years. The county intends to proceed with replacement or rehabilitation of these bridges as soon as state transportation bond funds are available. The county will submit the list of bridges to MnDOT to be added to the master bridge priority list. The affected bridges are listed in the table. Odds and ends In other business, the board: • approved payment of $267,471 to KKE Architects for work on the jail/law enforcement center in July. • authorized the county attorney’s office to hire a temporary intern from the William Mitchell College of Law under the federal work study program. • approved the county attorney’s office findings related to a tobacco ordinance violation and appeal from Broadway Quick Stop in Monticello. This was the third such violation since 2005. The penalty imposed was a $250 fine and loss of license for one week. The board will allow owner Tom Holthaus to determine the dates for the license suspension. |
