The State Bank of Delano has served the community since 1908, and though the building itself has changed, its motto, “Friends serving neighbors” has remained the same.
With this in mind, the State Bank of Delano will be conducting its centennial celebration the week of July 14-18.
Refreshments will be available daily, and customers may register at the bank all week for cash prize drawings.
The centennial celebration will continue through Friday, July 18 with a complimentary pork dinner, including roasted corn on the cob and beverages.
There will be a local variety show in the State Bank of Delano parking lot from 4 to 7 p.m. The band Boogie Wonderland will perform from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Terri Traen, host of the KQRS radio morning show and Delano native, will be the event emcee along with Delano mayor Joe McDonald.
State Bank of Delano has hosted a variety of events in celebration of its 100th year, including a movie day at the Delano Theater Jan. 19, and a dance at St. Joseph’s Church gym with Butch Automatic April 12.
In June, State Bank of Delano President Steve Gilmer, loan officer Steve Bakken, and Senior Vice President of Lending, Scott Fritz, were found washing the windows of vehicles in the drive-thru.
“It’s a small way to thank you for coming to see us during all of the construction,” Gilmer said.
