The first-ever Heart and Health Fair is set for Saturday, Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Montrose Family Chiropractic.

Top to bottom, whether eyes or toes (and anything in between), the fair is all about ways to get healthy and stay healthy, according to Dr. Sonya Tourville of Montrose Family Chiropractic.

“We’re raising health awareness,” she said. The chiropractic clinic will be doing foot scans, where they scan the bottom of feet to determine what the cause of lower back pain might be related to poor posture and other issues, she said.

On the other end of the spectrum, Dr. Kristina Pupp of Delano Eye Clinic will be offering prescription analyses for optic health, she said.

Other businesses that will be present include Snap Fitness, nutrition from Dan and Becky’s Market, as well as a visit from a real fire truck by the Montrose Fire Department. Massage therapists will be on hand to complete the set.

“Free,” might also be the unofficial secondary theme for the fair, since there will be free massages, free samples, and free screenings of all kinds, such as for vision, spinal screenings, and blood pressure.

A free iPod is being away, as well. Participants are encouraged to come and enter.

Kids’ games are provided, so that parents can enjoy themselves. Refreshments, drawings, and giveaways will also be available.

The fair is located on Highway 12 at Montrose Chiropractic, 145 Nelson Blvd., Suite 1000 in Montrose.
