Barring any weather delays, the official detour for the Highway 7 project could be moved from Carver County Road 41 to Highway 25 north of Mayer Monday Sept. 15.

Installation of curb and gutter in the roundabout at the intersection of Highway 7 and Highway 25 is complete.

Crews were in the process of installing lighting and concrete medians at the roundabout last week.

The roundabout, and everything in the project area east of that intersection, is expected to be complete Sept. 15.

Compacting of the road bed between Carver County Road 21 and Tacoma Avenue is complete and crews were delivering sand to the area in preparation for the construction of passing lanes.

The intersection of McLeod County Road 2 and Highway 7 was closed Aug. 25 for the construction of turn lanes. The intersection will be completely impassible until this is complete, according to MnDOT Engineer Kelly Brunkhorst.
