Ghosts and ghouls and other spooky creatures will come alive for the second annual Lester Prairie Youth Baseball and Softball Association Halloween party and movie event.

The fun will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26 in the Lester Prairie High School gym.

Participants are encouraged to wear a costume and bring a chair or a blanket so they can be comfortable.

The seasonal fun and games will include a costume contest, a hayride around the school property, pumpkin painting, and bobbing for apples.

Concessions will be available.

The entertainment will continue with a showing of the movie, “Night at the Museum,” starting at 4 p.m.

The comedy stars Ben Stiller as a newly-hired security guard at the Museum of Natural History.

There is no charge for the event, but freewill donations will be accepted, and all proceeds will go to support the Lester Prairie Youth Baseball and Softball Association.

The group, staffed by volunteer coaches and umpires, is part of the Waconia Community Education League, Crow River Youth Baseball League, and Crow River Fast Pitch League.

It includes T-ball, softball, and baseball teams for children ages 6-18.

It is sponsored by the Lester Prairie Lions, Lester Prairie Fire Department Relief Association, New Germany Commercial Club, Hollywood Booster Club, and the Lester Prairie Business Association.
