The Highway 7 construction project between Silver Lake and St. Bonifacius continues to move forward.

MnDOT Engineer Kelly Brunkhorst said crews expected to finish the concrete work (curb and gutter, median, trailering apron) at the Carver County Road 10 roundabout this week.

The contractor was working on the gravel east of Highway 25 to prepare for possible paving this week.

The bituminous plant arrived late last week, and paving will begin with the County Road 10 roundabout.

Milling equipment is expected to arrive this week, and the existing road surface on the section of Highway 7 between County Road 10 and St. Bonifacius will be milled and paving crews will follow the milling crews.

The muck (deep organic) excavation between McLeod County Road 15 and Eagle Avenue continues, and crews should finish this operation early this week.

The contractor is hauling sand from McLeod County Road 9 to the muck excavation near Eagle Avenue. Local residents and businesses are asked to use caution on Highway 7, as the construction traffic will be heavy.
