There is still time for local businesses to become involved in the Taste of Delano, food from around the world.
The event will offer food from around the world, along with family-friendly fun in the Delano City Park Wednesday, July 30 from 5 to 8 p.m.
For one low cost, people will be able to participate in all of the food tasting and activities at the event. Advanced tickets are $7 for adults or $3 for children, and are available at the Coborn’s service counter, the Delano Area Chamber of Commerce, Crow River State Bank, State Bank of Delano and Delano City Hall.
There will be no cost for activities or booths during the event after people have purchased a general admission.
Chopper the Worlds Nuttiest DJ will provide entertainment, sponsored by Star West, and the KRWC Road Show will also be there.
There will be face painting, a moon walk, balloon animals, hair and nails, a cartoonist, cotton candy, snow cones, a clown, popcorn and booths with food and wine sponsored by local businesses.
Proceeds of the event will fund future efforts of the Highway 12 task force, which to date has spent more than $10,000 promoting Delano businesses during construction.
“We are still looking for businesses to participate,” said co-organizer Joe Tipka. “It’s all about promoting their businesses. They can have a booth or sponsor fun activities for kids.”
Businesses can have a booth to showcase their company with games or free handouts including promotional items, coupons and services. Organizers are also hoping businesses may purchase advance sale tickets to give to employees or give out to their customers.
While there is a need for businesses to sponsor activities or booths, donations are welcome, and there will also be a need for approximately 25 volunteers to help with event set up, clean up and tear down.
This is a chance for companies to show appreciation for the community who supports area businesses as well as make new friends and business partners.
