It seems that many people these days are all hyped up about change.
How about you? Are you anticipating any changes in your life?
I’m sure that some of you reading this are in the middle of some type of change. Perhaps you have lost your job, or you are watching your savings and investments evaporate into thin air. Perhaps you have been told that you only have a certain amount of time to live because of the disease that is changing your body.
If that’s you, then take heart because the word of God reminds us in James 1:12: “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.”
On the other hand, maybe you have been given a promotion and you now have the career of your dreams, or the dreaded news you have been so worried about from the doctor has changed to good news and you will recover!
If you are experiencing these changes, then remember, it’s not by chance. The Bible reminds us (James 1:17) “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
Change is inevitable. It may be good or bad, however, change is as predictable as the ocean tides. The question is this, will you be ready when change comes and knocks on your door?
When those changes come upon the shores of your life, whether good or bad, my prayer for you is that you will remember this promise from God’s Word: “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:2-5 NIV)
I hope that you have been encouraged by these words and that when those changes do come, you will remember to turn to Christ, who will give you the wisdom you need to face any changes in your life.
Are you ready for a change?
