Woodland Twp. seeks gravel
Most of the Woodland Township meeting July 13 was spent discussing the search for good quality gravel for the township roads, Clerk Gloria Janikula said.
“We’re still looking,” she said. If a company is found to supply the gravel, the township might agree to a multi-year contract.
Hollywood sets annual meeting
The continuation of the annual meeting for Hollywood Township will be Monday, Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m., Clerk Becky Burns said.
The board will discuss the sheriff’s contract renewal and whether or not to leave the levy amount the same, she said.
The first part of the annual meeting was in March, Burns added.
Camden approves fire contract
At the July 9 Camden Township meeting, the board approved a five-year contract for the Norwood Young America Fire Department, Clerk Roger Sauerbrey said.
Previous contracts with this department had been for one year, but the fire department wanted to reduce paperwork by making it a five-year contract, Sauerbrey said.
Camden Township also has contracts with fire departments from three other cities, including Mayer, Plato, and New Germany, he added.
At the Thursday, Aug. 13 meeting, the township plans to discuss drainage problems on 92nd Street.
Winsted Twp. to accepts road bid
At the July 9 meeting, Winsted Township accepted a bid from Terning Construction in Cokato for the reconstruction of Acorn Avenue, which is in the northeast corner of the township, Clerk Susan Goebel said. Work is scheduled to begin in August or September.
Winsted Township is also finishing applying gravel to township roads, she added.
Bergen Twp. extends job offer
Bergen Township officials recently extended an offer to a person for a maintenance worker position, Clerk Amy Meyer said. The previous maintenance worker resigned.
The township also signed the contract with Duininck Bros Construction in Prinsberg to rebuild Zero Avenue.
“Everything is still on target,” Meyer said, and work should begin mid-August, and be completed by Sept. 10.
