The weather is nice, the grass is starting to turn green, and the area golf courses are all open. As sure a sign of spring as the baseball opener and the birds signing, golf is a very popular pastime.

Whether it is playing in a league, hooking up with some buddies and going once a week, or just hacking your way through nine holes twice a summer, golf is a great way to spend a nice spring (or summer) day.

No matter if you are serious about your golf, or just enjoy the relaxation of being outside for three hours, golf is fun for all ages.

Below is a brief round-up of the golf courses in our area, so get out and hit the links.
Cokato Town and Country Club

Special Events:
Starting Friday, June 6 and every other Friday after that, there will be couples golf. Register at 5:45 p.m., with golf starting at 6 p.m.; shotgun start; 4-person scramble format; bring hors’ deourves for afterwards. This is not ncecessarily a competition, but fun! Something unique: This is the 80th anniversity of the Cokato Golf Course, making it one of the oldest golf courses in our area.

Glencoe Country Club

Something unique: The course was designed by Les Bolstad, the former Universtiy of Minnesota Golden Gopher golf coach, and a very well respected course designer.

Something unique: The most noteworthy golfer to ever tee it up at Shadow Brooke would be Paul McCartney of Beatles fame, who was out for a round of golf about five years ago.

Meadow Links Golf Course

The Greens at Howard Lake
